Council of Parishes of Southern New Jersey

".....Galante expects to respond to the disability concerns "before Labor Day," Walton said. He added critics have not challenged the need for a merger between the parishes, but have focused on the loss of St. Vincent Pallotti Church as a worship site......" Courier Post 8/20/08

"....Andrew Walton, spokesman for the Camden Diocese....insisted that Galante had amply explained his reasons for St. Vincent's anticipated merger with St. Aloysius...."
"....St. Aloysius .....would be the locus of the new parish, but the church at St. Vincent's....would be available for Sunday Masses....." Philadelphia Inquirer 8/21/08

Am I missing something here or is Walton once again giving two different stories to two different newspapers??

There's a correction in today's Inquirer:
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/clears/20080822_Clearing_the_record.html

It wouldn't be the first time a P.R. man said something misleading, knowing that the next day's correction would be overlooked.

Clearing the record

An article in yesterday's Inquirer reported incorrectly that St. Vincent Pallotti parish in Haddon Township would become a secondary worship site in a plan to reorganize the Diocese of Camden. Bishop Joseph Galante's plan calls for St. Aloysius parish in Oaklyn to be the only worship site in a merged parish that would incorporate St. Vincent.

Thanks Martin for the Inquirer correction link. At least I know I'm not off the wall in trying to figure out what was being quoted in both newspapers.

It doesn't make sense to close down or change a Catholic Church which is next to a Catholic School..... What next? Is Paul VI going to close it's doors down forever once they build a new "mega" school to go along with the "mega" churches??!!!
That example of a "mega' church in Texas if far from being a Roman Catholic Church....
